In 1991, he earned his Juris Doctor, graduating cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where he ranked in the top 15% of his class. During law school, he served as an Assistant Editor for the Law Review and contributed to the Michigan Bar Journal.
