Austin Alexander

Austin Alexander is counsel in the Business Restructuring, Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy practice at Thompson Hine LLP. Based in Atlanta, he focuses on representing clients in insolvency proceedings, receiverships, and contract disputes, with experience in both courtroom litigation and transactional matters. He also leads the practice’s efforts in distressed M&A and Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC) transactions.

Austin Alexander earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2014, graduating magna cum laude. During law school, he held editorial positions with the Mississippi Law Journal as associate articles editor and technical editor. He also co-founded and served as editor of the Business Law Reporter. Prior to law school, he completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Mississippi in 2011, graduating cum laude.

Austin’s clients include private equity firms, community banks, investment banks, real estate developers, utility companies, and national franchisors. His approach is centered on strategic, results-oriented counsel tailored to businesses’ financial and operational needs, navigating complex restructuring and litigation challenges.

Austin began his legal career with two distinguished federal clerkships, serving Judge Katharine M. Samson of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and Judge David C. Bramlette of the U.S. District Court, both in the Southern District of Mississippi. These roles helped build his litigation insight and deepened his understanding of bankruptcy law from a judicial perspective.
