Derek Keith Prosser is an experienced attorney who concentrates his legal practice on bankruptcy, debt negotiation, and civil litigation. Derek began his academic path with a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of North Dakota in 2003, followed by another B.B.A. in Banking & Financial Economics in 2004, graduating summa cum laude. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2007, laying the foundation for his legal career across multiple states.

Derek launched his legal career in Virginia representing political figures before discovering his passion for bankruptcy law. He joined a rapidly growing firm, sharpening his expertise in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Derek then advanced to one of Virginia’s leading bankruptcy law firms, where he broadened his practice to include consumer and business bankruptcies, trustee litigation, and complex creditor disputes.

Over time, Derek earned a reputation for his detailed approach and strong advocacy. In 2013, he was named partner at the Virginia firm, recognizing his professional growth and deep expertise. That same year, he returned to Texas with a goal of helping clients using his diverse legal experience.

Derek Keith Prosser holds Bar admissions in Texas and Virginia, along with multiple federal court admissions, including the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States District Court in Virginia. He is also an active member of the Dallas Bar Association, staying connected with the legal community and ongoing legal developments.
