Dominic Buttita, Jr.

Dominic Buttita, Jr. is the Managing Attorney and founder of Buttitta Law Group, LLC, where he leads the firm’s criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation practices. He is a seasoned trial lawyer with broad courtroom experience and a strong background in both prosecution and defense. Throughout his career, he has represented individuals, families, and businesses in complex legal disputes, earning a reputation for strategic advocacy and dependable legal guidance.

Dominic earned his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law, where he developed core skills in legal analysis and trial advocacy. He also holds an M.B.A. from Dominican University, providing him with advanced insight into business operations and financial decision-making. He completed his undergraduate education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, earning a B.S. in Finance.

Dominic began his legal career in public service, working as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Illinois. He served in the Criminal Appeals Division at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and later at the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office. During this time, he handled traffic matters, misdemeanors, felony reviews, and felony trials, gaining valuable experience evaluating evidence, arguing motions, and presenting cases before judges and juries.

Dominic co-founded Carponelli & Buttitta, LLC, where he focused on criminal and DUI defense while also co-leading the firm’s civil practice after transitioning to private practice. He represented clients in divorce and child-custody matters, commercial disputes, real estate matters, and personal injury claims. In 2015, he founded Buttitta Law Group, LLC, expanding his work across criminal, family, and civil law.

Dominic Buttita, Jr. has tried well over 100 cases to verdict over the years. He helps clients navigate serious legal challenges by holding opposing parties to their burden of proof and pursuing fair outcomes through disciplined, results-driven advocacy.
