Deborah A. Peacock

Deborah A. Peacock, P.E., is the President and CEO of Peacock Law P.C., one of the largest intellectual property firms in New Mexico and the Southwest. With a distinguished career spanning decades, Deborah specializes in intellectual property law and business transactions, focusing on technology commercialization, complex global branding, and cutting-edge legal issues in aerospace, outer space, energy, semiconductors, and blockchain.

Ms. Peacock earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and graduated with the highest honors in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. She is a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney and a licensed Professional Engineer in New Mexico and Colorado. Her legal expertise is complemented by hands-on engineering experience, including her metallurgical engineer and plant supervisor work for Kennecott Minerals Company.

Since founding Peacock Law, Deborah has worked extensively on patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and licensing matters for leading-edge technologies and disruptive industries. Her notable accomplishments include successfully commercializing novel technologies, helping clients secure their intellectual property rights, and advising businesses on regulatory compliance across various sectors. Deborah has also significantly contributed to global branding strategies, ensuring businesses gain a competitive edge in international markets.

In addition to her leadership at Peacock Law, Ms. Peacock has served on various boards, including the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and New Mexico Gas Company. She is a Regents Chair at the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology. She has been appointed to several state boards, including the Mining Safety Board and the Environmental Improvement Board.
