David Y. Wolnerman

David Y. Wolnerman is an experienced attorney who focuses on complex business law matters, corporate crisis management, and Chapter 11 restructurings. As a partner at White & Wolnerman, PLLC, David advises clients in various legal areas, including commercial litigation, workouts, creditors’ rights, distressed asset sales, bankruptcy, and corporate reorganizations. He has represented debtors, creditors, lenders, landlords, and investors in major transactions and litigation, both in and out of court.

David earned his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in June 2001, where he contributed to the Brooklyn Journal of Law & Policy. He received his B.S. in Accounting, cum laude, from Brooklyn College in June 1997.

David has worked on numerous high-profile and multi-jurisdictional cases throughout his legal career. His clients have ranged from small businesses to large public corporations. He is known for providing strategic legal guidance during times of financial distress, including liquidations, bankruptcies, and business acquisitions. Prior to co-founding White & Wolnerman, PLLC, David practiced in the Business Finance, Restructuring, and Bankruptcy groups at top firms, including Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

David’s representative matters include high-profile Chapter 11 cases such as Jennifer Convertibles, Avianca Airlines, and Enron Corp. He has also counseled leading financial institutions, including Barclays Bank and Nomura Bank, in major bankruptcy proceedings, and guided investors and commercial landlords through complex corporate restructurings, distressed acquisitions, and related transactions.

David is admitted to practice in New York State, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the New York City Bar Association.
