Todd E. Duffy is a founding partner at DuffyAmedeo LLP with over two decades of experience in complex bankruptcy matters. He focuses on delivering strategic, results-oriented legal solutions to businesses and individuals, offering personal attention and efficiency to meet the financial restructuring needs of each client.
Todd earned his J.D. from St. John’s Law School, completing the program in just two and a half years. He began his legal career by clerking for Chief Judge Stephen D. Gerling in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York, gaining early insight into court operations and the intricacies of bankruptcy law.
Todd has represented a wide range of clients, including debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditor committees, and foreign funds in U.S. courts. He has also acted as a post-bankruptcy liquidation trustee. His experience includes Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings, allowing him to tailor solutions for businesses and individuals alike.
Todd’s litigation background extends beyond bankruptcy. He has handled state and federal court cases nationwide and argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His courtroom advocacy and deep understanding of federal procedure strengthen his ability to serve clients in high-stakes financial disputes.
Todd previously served as Chair of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group at Anderson Kill & Olick P.C. He is a past Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee of the New York County Lawyers Association and was an associate editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Journal. He remains active with the Federal Bar Council Inn of Court.
