David W. Carickhoff

David W. Carickhoff is a partner at Chipman Brown Cicero & Cole, LLP whose practice focuses on bankruptcy and restructuring. With more than 25 years of experience, he represents parties on different sides of distressed situations and works with chapter 11 debtors and chapter 7 trustees on case and business strategies. His industry experience includes chemical, energy, gaming, manufacturing, media, medical devices, mortgage, pharmaceutical, retail, technology, telecom, and video game matters.

David earned a J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law through its Evening Division. He was on the Dean’s List and participated in the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review. He earned a B.A. in English from Haverford College. His legal education and long restructuring practice support detailed analysis of bankruptcy strategy, contested claims, asset sales, fiduciary issues, and the business considerations that shape distressed-company decisions.

David guides clients through complex legal and business issues in distressed situations. He has led a chapter 11 debtor through a sale process that preserved the business and more than 50 jobs. He manages litigation campaigns and claims for chapter 7 trustees, including breach of duty and fraudulent transfer matters, and obtained an $8 million recovery for a trustee in a case involving insider claims. He has resolved more than 200 cases with and without mediation.

David W. Carickhoff is admitted in Delaware and Pennsylvania and before federal district courts in Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
