David R. Badger

David R. Badger is a highly respected attorney based in Charlotte, North Carolina. With over 50 years of legal experience, he has built a strong reputation as a skilled courtroom advocate, especially in the areas of bankruptcy and trial law. He is known for his passion for arguing cases and helping people through some of life’s toughest legal challenges.

Mr. Badger earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his B.A. in Political Science and English in 1969 and his J.D. in 1972. He is admitted to practice in all North Carolina state courts, three U.S. District Courts in North Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Badger is a Board-Certified Bankruptcy Specialist, certified by both the North Carolina State Bar and the American Board of Certification. He was one of the first attorneys in the country certified as a Criminal Trial Advocate by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Over the years, Mr. Badger has earned many honors, including being named a North Carolina Super Lawyer, one of the Top 100 Attorneys in North Carolina, and a Best Lawyer in America by his peers. He has also received the North Carolina Bar Association Lifetime Achievement Award and the Order of Service Award from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Mr. Badger has played a leadership role in shaping legal practice across the state. He co-founded and chaired both the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Consumer Areas of Practice Section of the NC Academy of Trial Lawyers.
