David A. Ball

David A. Ball is a principal at Cohen and Wolf, P.C., and chair of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. Recognized as one of Connecticut’s top commercial litigators, he has decades of experience representing clients in high-stakes disputes. He is frequently praised for his thoughtful analysis, practical guidance, and strategic advocacy in complex cases.

David earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Brandeis University in 1988 and subsequently received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1991. This strong academic foundation enables David to effectively handle multifaceted disputes across a broad spectrum of industries and legal forums.

David’s practice encompasses shareholder and partnership disputes, fiduciary duty claims, securities fraud actions, and other complex business litigation matters. He represents clients in federal and state courts, as well as in FINRA and AAA arbitrations, often serving as lead or local counsel in some of Connecticut’s most significant litigation matters.

David’s experience also includes energy-related disputes before the Connecticut Siting Council and the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, where he advocates for municipalities in controversial power transmission cases.

In addition, David has a strong background in real estate title litigation, including cases involving adverse possession, quiet title, prescriptive easement, and reformation of instruments. His approach strikes a balance between zealous courtroom advocacy and practical advice, enabling clients to secure favorable settlements or successfully litigate through trial when necessary.
