Darwin H. Bingham is a partner at Scalley Reading Bates Hansen & Rasmussen, P.C., in Salt Lake City, where he focuses on representing creditors and businesses across a wide range of disputes. With over two decades of experience, he has built a respected career in creditors’ rights, construction law, landlord-tenant matters, bankruptcy for creditors, real estate, equipment leasing, and commercial litigation. He is well-regarded for guiding clients through complex financial and legal conflicts, ensuring their interests are protected and advanced in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Bingham earned a B.S., cum laude, in Political Science from Utah State University and subsequently received his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law. After graduating, he worked as a judicial law clerk in Twin Falls, Idaho, to the Honorable Roger S. Burdick, which provided him with valuable early insight into the judicial process. He is admitted to practice in Utah, Idaho, and the U.S. District Courts for both states.
Mr. Bingham has consistently played a leadership role in the legal community. He served as Vice-Chairman and later Chairman of the Bankruptcy Section of the Utah State Bar, where under his leadership the section was awarded “Section of the Year.” He is also an active member of the District of Utah local bankruptcy rules committee and the committee for pro se bankruptcy litigation. These roles underscore his dedication to enhancing bankruptcy practice and ensuring equitable access to justice.
