Stuart M. Maples is an accomplished Alabama attorney with extensive experience in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, litigation, and dispute resolution. Stuart Maples earned his B.S. from the University of North Alabama in 1982 and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1986. During law school, he distinguished himself through strong research and writing skills, which set the foundation for his success in complex litigation. He is admitted to practice in Alabama, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Throughout his career, Maples has guided clients through bankruptcies, reorganizations, and creditor-debtor disputes, often providing counsel at critical moments in business operations. He founded his own law firm in 2008 to deliver personalized service and later joined Thompson Burton in 2024, continuing to expand his reach while maintaining client-focused representation. In addition to litigation, he serves as a registered civil mediator with the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution, offering clients effective alternatives for resolving disputes.
Stuart Maples has also been recognized for his leadership within the legal profession.
