Darren Watts is an experienced attorney whose career reflects a wide range of legal practice, including estate planning, business law, and mediation. Over the years, he has guided individuals and organizations through both routine and complex legal issues. Darren began his academic path at Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera in 1997. He later returned to the university to complete his JD in Law in 2004. His education, rooted in both the arts and law, built strong communication and analytical skills that continue to serve his clients effectively.

Darren’s legal career started as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of Alaska, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases for three years. After returning to Utah, he practiced in private firms, handling matters such as bankruptcy, family law, criminal defense, and litigation. His diverse practice sharpened his ability to navigate legal disputes while supporting clients through difficult challenges.

Darren also developed significant experience in estate planning, helping families protect assets, plan for the future, and provide for loved ones. His work in business law has guided entrepreneurs and companies through legal structures, contracts, and compliance. His role as Corporate Counsel for OpenTeams Incubator broadened his understanding of corporate operations, further enhancing his advisory role for business clients.

Prior to practicing law, Darren served as a U.S. Army Captain, holding leadership roles in field artillery. That background instilled discipline, problem-solving skills, and dedication to service. He also contributes his talents to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, reflecting his long-standing passion for the arts and community engagement.
