John earned his B.A. from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1982. He went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America, in Washington, D.C., in 1986. John was first admitted to practice before the United States Court of Federal Claims in 1990, later joining the Wyoming Bar in 1993. His credentials expanded with admission to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1996 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 2006. He has also served as counsel in the Shoshone and Arapahoe Tribal Court, strengthening his role in tribal and resource-related legal matters.
