Patrick earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1986, graduating magna cum laude. He then received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1989, also magna cum laude. Following law school, he clerked for Judge John R. Gibson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, further refining his litigation skills.
