Kelly earned her B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Wayne State University in 2000, where she was a Dean’s List student. She then attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating as a Cavanagh Scholar in 2005. She was inducted into the Order of Barristers and actively participated in the moot court program, winning several awards for her oral argument skills. She was also a finalist for the Association of Corporate Counsel of America (ACCA) Scholarship and received a Book Award in Securities Regulation.

Before attending law school, Kelly worked in the securities industry and held her Series 7 and 63 licenses. She later transitioned to law, where she built a strong reputation in litigation and trial advocacy. Her experience includes criminal prosecution, insurance defense, personal injury, and municipal law.
