During law school, she was involved in multiple organizations, including the Journal of Animal and Natural Resources Law, as an Associate Editor and the Volunteer Advocates of Mid-Michigan. She worked as a research assistant to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and gained practical legal experience as a Student Clinician in the Housing Law and Chance at Childhood Legal Clinics. Before pursuing law school, she earned a B.A. in Spanish and English from Georgetown University in 2008.

A diverse range of experiences has shaped Janieasha’s legal career. She interned for Justice Victoria Roberts of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and Judge Sheila R. Johnson of the 46th District Court. She also externed at the Michigan Department of Attorney General in the Civil Litigation, Employment, and Elections Division and worked at both large and mid-sized law firms. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of legal procedures and the importance of strong client advocacy.
