About
Dana Beldiman is a partner in the San Francisco office of Squire Patton Boggs. She advises clients on intellectual property transactions, brand protection strategies, and global IP management, helping companies structure agreements and protect valuable intellectual assets across domestic and international markets.
Dana earned a Dr. Jur. from the University of Bremen, magna cum laude. She also received an LL.M. from Santa Clara University, a J.D. from the University of California, and an M.A. from the University of Bucharest.
Dana focuses her practice on structuring complex intellectual property transactions, including licensing, development, distribution, and systems integration agreements. She regularly advises clients on corporate IP management strategies, licensing programs, and monetization approaches that support business growth and global market expansion.
Dana also advises on trademark strategy and brand protection. Her work includes mark selection, clearance, monitoring, and trademark prosecution before the Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial Appeal Board, as well as domain name protection and international patent and copyright strategy.
Dana is active in academia and serves on the faculty of UC Hastings in San Francisco and Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. She teaches courses on IP licensing transactions, intellectual property law, trademark law, and international intellectual property matters.
Dana was instrumental in founding the Transnational Center for IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy at Bucerius Law School and serves as its Academic Director and Chairman of its Academic Advisory Committee. She also co-directs the International IP Transactions Summer Program.
Dana Beldiman continues to contribute to the field of intellectual property through teaching, publications, and international speaking engagements, while advising clients on complex IP transactions and strategic brand protection across global markets.
