Jon Mureen

Jon Mureen is a partner at Squire Patton Boggs and the managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office. He is a commercial trial lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes disputes involving complex legal and business issues in both state and federal courts.

Jon earned his B.S., with Highest Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. He later received his J.D., With Distinction, from the University of Virginia in 2007. His education prepared him for a career focused on complex litigation and trial advocacy.

Jon began his legal career serving as a law clerk to Chief Judge Sidney Fitzwater of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. This experience provided valuable insight into federal court procedures and complex litigation.

Jon focuses his practice on commercial litigation involving corporate governance disputes, shareholder and partnership conflicts, fraud and fiduciary duty claims, and energy litigation. He has significant experience handling cases where the issues are complex and the potential for trial is high.

Jon has served as first-chair trial lawyer in numerous cases and has more than 100 days of trial experience across more than a dozen trials. His work includes representing clients in jury trials, arbitration proceedings, and appellate matters.

Jon has represented clients in matters involving corporate disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, energy litigation, and complex commercial claims. His experience includes cases involving shareholder governance, contract disputes, trademark matters, and other significant business conflicts.

Jon Mureen is admitted to practice in Texas and before several federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western, Northern, and Southern Districts of Texas.
