About
Erica Rose is an intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on complex patent litigation and related disputes. Her work involves analyzing and addressing technical legal issues across multiple industries. She regularly handles matters connected to advanced technology, helping resolve disputes involving patents, trade secrets, contracts, and competition claims.
Erica built a strong academic background in science and law before entering practice. She earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2021, cum laude, with a Minor in Chemistry. She later completed a J.D., Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, 2024, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, Intellectual Property Concentration.
Erica focuses her legal work on intellectual property disputes, particularly matters related to patent litigation. Her experience includes cases involving semiconductor fabrication, cloud computing systems, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and mechanical technologies. This broad technical exposure allows her to understand complex innovations while addressing the legal issues connected to them.
Erica also gained valuable courtroom insight through a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Christopher J. Burke in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. In that role, she assisted with a wide range of legal matters, including patent infringement claims, Hatch-Waxman disputes, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract issues, antitrust matters, and unfair competition cases.
Erica developed hands-on intellectual property experience during law school through her participation in Villanova’s Intellectual Property Clinic. Working as a law student counselor, she performed detailed analyses related to freedom to operate, patentability reviews, trade secret matters, and trademark considerations while helping clients understand how intellectual property law applied to their innovations.
Erica later continued her practical training in Villanova’s Advanced Intellectual Property Clinic. In this program, she worked directly on preparing patent applications for clients. This experience strengthened her ability to translate technical ideas into clear legal documentation, an important skill when helping inventors protect new technologies.
Erica Rose continues to focus her career on intellectual property law, particularly disputes involving patents and emerging technologies. Erica combines technical knowledge, legal training, and practical litigation experience to assist with complex matters involving innovation, competition, and intellectual property rights across a wide range of industries.
