Tom Chauncey

Tom Chauncey is an experienced attorney who focuses on media law, corporate law, employment matters, and litigation. He advises businesses and media organizations on issues involving libel, slander, privacy rights, and access to public records. His practice often includes assisting newspapers, television, and radio organizations with pre-publication legal matters. Tom earned his J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law. During law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi, a legal honor society recognizing academic achievement. He received his B.A., with departmental honors, from Northwestern University. His education provided strong preparation in legal analysis, communication, and advocacy, which continue to support his work advising businesses and media organizations on corporate, employment, and regulatory matters.

Throughout his career, Tom has helped clients resolve legal issues through litigation, regulatory processes, and strategic negotiation. His work includes addressing zoning matters, legislative issues, and employment disputes involving contracts, non-compete agreements, workplace policies, and termination matters. Before joining private practice, Tom Chauncey served for ten years as executive vice president, general counsel, and station manager for a major radio and television station in Phoenix. This experience provided valuable insight into the legal and operational challenges faced by media companies.
