Crawford served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for Buchanan County from 2012 until October 2020. In that position, he handled many cases in the General District Court, the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, and the Circuit Court. This work gave him strong trial experience and a practical understanding of Virginia criminal procedure.
Crawford also prepared briefs for appeals before the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court. His appellate work strengthened his legal writing, research, and issue analysis. Crawford became the prosecuting attorney for the Buchanan County Drug Court in 2017. Through that role, he became active in the recovery community and helped form Mountain Movers- Buchanan County Chapter, where he served as a founding member and president. He also led the Buchanan County Bar Association.
Crawford returned to the Tidewater area and reentered private practice in October 2020. Crawford handles Criminal Defense, Child Custody, Traffic Violations, DUI Defense, Assault and Battery, Criminal Appeals, Drug Crimes, and License Suspensions.
