Matthew M. Flemister is a Partner who handles criminal defense and family law matters. Matthew earned his law degree with honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law. After law school, he gained valuable experience as a judicial law clerk for the Arkansas Supreme Court. His education and early legal work helped build a strong base for trial practice.
Matthew has successfully represented thousands of people throughout the State of Arkansas. He has extensive trial experience defending clients wrongfully accused of crimes. He understands how a criminal conviction can harm a person’s life for years, so he works to reduce the serious damage caused by criminal charges.
Matthew also has vast experience helping clients with family law cases. He has handled matters related to divorce, custody, guardianship, and child support with much success. He works diligently to obtain the best result for his client and their family, while guiding them through each step of the case.
Prior to joining Nelson & Marks, PLLC, Matthew worked for years at two of the largest law firms in Central & Northwest Arkansas. This work gave him broad legal experience. He now focuses on finding ways to win cases and fight for great outcomes for the firm’s clients.
Matthew was appointed to the Arkansas Child Welfare Agency Review Board by Governor Asa Hutchinson in 2016. He was also named to Super Lawyers 2021 Mid-South Rising Stars and recognized as one of the top attorneys under 40 years old in the entire Mid-South region at that time.
