Carol A. Kartagener is a veteran civil rights lawyer and board-certified expert in marital and family law. Carol earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1984 and holds a B.A. in History and Medical Studies, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She began her legal career as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Norman C. Roettger, Jr., gaining foundational experience in federal civil rights and constitutional law.
Carol A. Kartagener has argued numerous landmark cases involving civil liberties, family rights, and commercial conflicts, and she holds several published appellate opinions to her name. In 1993, she secured a record-setting $11 million verdict in a Broward County commercial dispute, reflecting her strength in both trial advocacy and legal strategy.
Carol is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the District’s Trial Bar. Carol has also served as a Special Master and Guardian in the 17th Judicial Circuit, roles that reflect her commitment to fairness and due process.
