Brian R. Carman

Brian R. Carman is a Kansas attorney and member at Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson L.C., with more than 20 years of experience and a diverse litigation practice focused primarily on family law, criminal defense law, and probate matters. His family law work includes divorce, child custody, child support, parenting time, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, spousal maintenance, and premarital and postnuptial agreements. He also handles DUI, criminal drug offenses, felony and misdemeanor matters, civil litigation, estate planning, wills, guardianships, personal injury, and wrongful death cases.

Brian earned his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law after completing his undergraduate studies at Kansas State University. He previously attended Baker University before graduating from Kansas State University in 2000. He is admitted to practice in Kansas and the US District Court for the District of Kansas. His legal background has developed through extensive courtroom work and representation involving complex family, criminal, probate, and civil disputes.

Brian has particular experience handling complex matrimonial matters involving closely held business interests, valuations of medical and professional practices, property division, child support, custody, and alimony. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has presented educational programs on family law topics, including military divorce and military division orders. He previously served as the criminal defense attorney for the City of Wichita Municipal Court’s Drug Court and has remained active in litigation and professional education.
