Brian Barmettler

Brian Barmettler is a commercial litigator with experience across industries, including insurance, construction, employee benefits, financial transactions, energy, and trusts and estates. He has handled complex cases involving coverage disputes, reimbursement claims, construction defects, and U.C.C. Article 2 and 9 matters. His approach is strategic and results-focused.

Brian earned his undergraduate degree in History and Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating summa cum laude in 2016. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He also received Merit Certificates for Constitutional Law, Jurisdiction and Choice of Law, and International Litigation.

Brian represents insurers and insureds in coverage and defense litigation, advises employee benefit plans in ERISA-related reimbursement matters, and litigates construction disputes involving contractors and owners. He also helps banks and lenders with secured transactions under U.C.C. Article 9 and resolves sales disputes governed by Article 2.

Brian is admitted to practice in Nebraska and Iowa, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and is active in the legal community.
