Jeremy K. Nickell provides legal counsel across a range of practice areas, including real estate, taxation, commercial transactions, and litigation. Jeremy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New Mexico, graduating summa cum laude in 2018. He then completed his Juris Doctor at SMU Dedman School of Law in 2022, graduating magna cum laude. During his time there, he served as the Air Law Symposium Managing Editor for the SMU Law Review Association, sharpening his legal writing and editorial skills.

Jeremy gained valuable early experience through judicial and government roles. He served as a Judicial Intern for Judge Brenda Rhoades of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Texas. In addition, he worked as an extern with the Federal Trade Commission’s Southwest Regional office, where he contributed to matters involving regulatory enforcement and consumer protection.

Jeremy launched his career at Sandia National Laboratories, focusing on financial analysis and international policy long before becoming a tax and commercial lawyer. This early experience sharpened his ability to evaluate complex financial data, a skill he now leverages to navigate sophisticated tax issues, business transactions, and regulatory compliance. His unique background gives him a deeper, real-world understanding of business operations, financial regulations, and strategic risk management.

His focus remains on building clear strategies for dispute resolution and managing high-stakes transactions with diligence and care.
