Jeremy K. Nickell provides legal counsel across a range of practice areas, including real estate, taxation, commercial transactions, and litigation. Jeremy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New Mexico, graduating summa cum laude in 2018. He then completed his Juris Doctor at SMU Dedman School of Law in 2022, graduating magna cum laude. During his time there, he served as the Air Law Symposium Managing Editor for the SMU Law Review Association, sharpening his legal writing and editorial skills.
Jeremy gained valuable early experience through judicial and government roles. He served as a Judicial Intern for Judge Brenda Rhoades of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Texas. In addition, he worked as an extern with the Federal Trade Commission’s Southwest Regional office, where he contributed to matters involving regulatory enforcement and consumer protection.
Jeremy began his career before law school at Sandia National Laboratories, where he specialized in financial analysis and international policy. This role enhanced his ability to assess complex financial data, which now informs his legal practice in tax and commercial matters. His background adds depth to his understanding of business operations and financial regulations.
