Shannon N. Nairn has over two decades of experience in the legal field, handling a wide range of complex legal matters. Her work has focused on litigation, labor and employment, and bankruptcy issues. With an extensive background in federal court systems, she has provided strong legal insight to clients and fellow attorneys across many practice areas.
Shannon earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Santa Clara University in 1984, followed by a Master of Arts in Writing from the University of New Mexico in 1993. She completed her legal education at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1996. While there, she served as Coordinating Editor for the Northwestern Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology.
Shannon began her legal career working with the federal courts for fifteen years. She served as a bankruptcy appellate law clerk for Judge McFeeley, who presided over the 10th Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. Later, she became a district court law clerk for Senior U.S. District Judge James Parker in the District of New Mexico.
Shannon also worked as a contract attorney with the Assistant United States Attorney’s office, focusing on criminal law. Her legal services extended into advising medical practices on compliance, contracts, and privacy matters. She supported local attorneys on legal issues involving Indian housing, criminal defense, and appellate work.
Shannon contributed to legal education by creating a continuing education course on Internet Assets, later published in the Los Angeles Lawyer magazine. Her dedication to professional development and knowledge-sharing enhances her value as a trusted legal advisor.
Shannon N. Nairn is admitted to practice in New Mexico and Colorado, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Her legal experience, especially within federal court systems, has helped clients navigate complex legal situations with clarity and care.
