Bobby Taghavi

Bobby Taghavi is the Managing Partner – National at Sweet James LLP and a nationally respected trial attorney with a legal career spanning over 19 years. He has led over 90 jury trials to verdict across both civil and criminal courts. Known for his commanding courtroom presence, Bobby advocates fiercely for survivors of personal injury, sexual assault, and civil rights violations.

Bobby earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law and holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminology from the University of California, Irvine. He is admitted to the California Bar and has held several leadership roles, including President of the Association of Orange County Deputy District Attorneys and board member of the Orange County Attorney’s Association.

Bobby launched his legal career at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent 12 years—including six in the specialized sexual assault unit. He successfully prosecuted high-profile cases involving violent crimes, gang-related offenses, and cold-case DNA prosecutions. As a key member of the elite Golden State Killer Task Force, he also led training programs for prosecutors and law enforcement, strengthening investigative and trial strategies across the region.

In private practice, Bobby brings his prosecutorial expertise to personal injury, complex civil litigation, and defense cases. He is especially focused on representing survivors of sexual harassment and abuse. His dedication to justice has resulted in landmark verdicts, including $22.75 million in Thomas v. Nineteenee and $17.4 million in Dutton v. City of Hanford, the largest such verdict in Kings County history.
