About
Bill Pattillo is a Conroe, Texas criminal defense attorney who has practiced criminal law in Montgomery County since 1995. His work includes felony and misdemeanor defense, with particular depth in juvenile cases. Before entering private defense practice, he served as a felony and misdemeanor prosecutor with the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office and later as Chief Juvenile Prosecutor. He is also a board-certified juvenile trial attorney who helps clients navigate the criminal justice system.
Bill earned a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1995 and a B.A. from the University of Texas in 1991. His legal education provided a foundation in criminal law, courtroom procedure, advocacy, and case analysis. Combined with his prosecutorial background, that training supports his ability to evaluate charges from both sides of a criminal case, identify important evidentiary and procedural issues, and develop defense strategies for adults and juveniles facing prosecution.
Bill’s experience includes years of work in the Montgomery County court system and substantial involvement in juvenile defense. He and other attorneys were awarded a contract beginning in 2011 to handle indigent juvenile cases for Montgomery County. That program later received the Gideon Award for Most Outstanding Indigent Defense Program in Texas for 2013. His background as a former prosecutor and Chief Juvenile Prosecutor gives him practical insight into charging decisions, courtroom strategy, and local criminal procedure.
Bill Pattillo is fluent in Spanish and continues to represent people facing criminal and juvenile matters in Montgomery County. He has been a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association since 1995 and the Montgomery County Criminal Defense Bar since 2005. His practice combines prosecutorial experience, juvenile-law knowledge, and long familiarity with the local courts. He focuses on explaining the legal process clearly, preparing cases carefully, and helping clients address criminal charges with informed, practical guidance.
