Benjamin U. Bowden is a seasoned civil rights and personal injury attorney who has dedicated more than three decades to fighting for justice in Mississippi. As a former insurance defense trial attorney, Benjamin brings a deep understanding of the strategies used by corporations and employers, allowing him to advocate effectively for accident victims and individuals facing civil rights violations.

Benjamin earned his B.A. in Political Science & History from Belhaven University and studied International Politics at Yale University. Benjamin later obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi. These academic achievements laid the foundation for his well-rounded and informed approach to litigation.

Benjamin’s legal career began in 1988, and since then, he has handled a wide spectrum of complex litigation. His practice includes Mississippi Workers’ Compensation, automobile accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, and Longshoreman and Harbor Workers’ Compensation cases. He also handles Jones Act, General Maritime law, and employment law matters involving EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, and FECA claims. He also litigates Section 1983 Civil Rights cases, Social Security Disability claims, insurance bad faith actions, and whistleblower-related matters.

Throughout his career, Benjamin has represented clients in state and federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
