Benjamin earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999 and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993.
Benjamin’s government career with the U.S. Department of Justice spanned nearly two decades. As U.S. Attorney from 2017 to 2018, he led one of the nation’s busiest federal districts, overseeing more than 200 attorneys and handling high-profile national security, healthcare fraud, and corporate fraud prosecutions. His leadership included a $337 million healthcare fraud takedown, international FCPA prosecutions, and precedent-setting extradition cases. Before that, he held leadership roles including First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of multiple criminal divisions.
In private practice, Benjamin continues to advise Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, banks, healthcare providers, and global corporations. He also conducts internal investigations and provides strategic counsel on compliance issues involving the DOJ, SEC, and international law enforcement.
