Barbara K. Hammers

Barbara K. Hammers is a seasoned family law attorney with a practice dedicated exclusively to family law matters. With a career spanning more than two decades, she is known for her deep expertise in divorce, custody, support, and complex family law litigation. She has been certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization since 2006.

Barbara earned her Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law in 1997, following a summa cum laude B.S. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. She also holds an Associate of Science degree from Citrus Community College. Admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court and U.S. Supreme Court, Barbara brings a high level of academic and legal distinction to her work.

Throughout her career, Barbara has held numerous leadership roles in professional legal associations. She has served on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California’s Family Law Section and chaired the Children’s Issues Committee. She is also a past President of the Santa Monica Bar Association and has chaired its Family Law Section.

Barbara K. Hammers is recognized not only for her legal advocacy but also for her contributions to education within the legal field. From 2006 to 2009, she coordinated and presented over 30 continuing education programs for fellow family law practitioners, advancing the professional development of the legal community.

Barbara is a long-standing member and executive committee board member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. Her extensive service, combined with her legal expertise, underscores her commitment to excellence in family law and the legal profession at large.
