David C. Ainley is a seasoned matrimonial attorney who approaches each case by helping clients define clear goals and guiding them toward resolution with focus and purpose. David earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management in 1990 and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1994. His education in business and law provides him with a solid foundation for addressing valuation, accounting, and tax issues in divorce litigation. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has served on the Board of its Illinois Chapter. David’s litigation background includes successful appellate work, including the landmark decision in In re Civil Union of Hamlin and Vasconcellos on equitable property division for same-sex couples.
