Anuj Shah

Anuj Shah is an associate in Stoll Berne’s litigation group in Portland. His practice focuses on complex business and securities litigation, data privacy, and class actions, with additional work involving appellate matters. He brings experience from the Oregon Supreme Court, public defense settings, immigrants’ rights work, and privacy compliance. His background gives him a practical perspective on disputes involving business issues, constitutional questions, evidentiary matters, technology, and the use of personal data in consumer-facing systems.

Anuj earned a J.D. from UC Davis School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received an M.S. in Information Technology-Privacy Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A. in Chemistry with a concentration in Neuroscience from Williams College. He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2025. His interdisciplinary education supports litigation involving technical information, privacy regulation, business practices, and complex legal analysis.

Anuj served as a judicial law clerk to Justice Stephen K. Bushong of the Oregon Supreme Court, providing recommendations and assisting with novel state-law issues. During law school, he worked with the Federal Defender for the District of Oregon, Metropolitan Public Defender, Just Futures Law, and the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic. Before law school, he worked at Nike as a senior privacy compliance manager assisting technical and business teams with data privacy and security requirements.

His background includes constitutional and evidentiary issues, public-interest legal matters, immigration-related advocacy, and corporate privacy compliance.
