About
Antonio Scarlato is a partner at ALAW in Independence, Ohio, and leads the firm’s Ohio Default Practice. He focuses on foreclosure, eviction, and real estate litigation arising from mortgage defaults. He advises clients in the mortgage servicing and financial services industries on disputes and compliance issues connected with defaulted property loans. His practice requires close attention to foreclosure procedure, court filings, and legal developments affecting mortgage enforcement.
Antonio earned a B.S. from the University of Toledo in 1997 and a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2000. He is licensed to practice law in Ohio and is a graduate of the Latz Negotiating Institute. His education and negotiation training support his work on real estate default disputes, regulatory questions, and court proceedings involving lenders and servicers.
Antonio’s experience includes leading real estate default work in private practice before joining ALAW. He previously served as a partner with Felty and Lembright Co., L.P.A., where he oversaw its real estate default practice. He played an important role in PHH Mortgage Corp. v. Prater, a 2012 Ohio Supreme Court appeal that resulted in a unanimous decision. He also counsels clients on changes and challenges in the mortgage default industry.
Antonio Scarlato is affiliated with the American Legal and Financial Network, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. He has spoken at mortgage servicing industry conferences and continues to advise clients on foreclosure and eviction matters. His leadership combines knowledge of Ohio real estate litigation with practical understanding of default operations, enabling clients to evaluate legal requirements and respond to contested property enforcement issues.
