About

Alyssa Quijano is an associate attorney at Ives & Flores, dedicated to representing individuals whose civil rights have been violated by law enforcement or government officials. Her practice focuses on cases involving wrongful death, excessive force, sexual abuse, and unconstitutional conditions in jails and prisons throughout New Mexico.

Alyssa earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of New Mexico. A New Mexico native, she began working in the legal field as a teenager, serving as a legal assistant for a contract public defender while still in high school. That early exposure to criminal defense laid the foundation for her commitment to public service and justice.

During college, Alyssa continued building her legal experience by working at Elite Paralegal Service, where she assisted in matters involving personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal defense, and civil rights. After her first year of law school, she became a law clerk at Coyte Law, P.C., where she focused on civil rights litigation. She remained there through 2021, primarily representing incarcerated individuals whose rights were violated behind bars.

At Ives & Flores, Alyssa Quijano uses her strong background in civil litigation to advocate for those most affected by government overreach and abuse. She approaches each case with a deep understanding of the trauma her clients have faced and a determination to seek accountability and systemic reform.

Alyssa’s legal work is driven by a passion for protecting civil liberties and standing up to institutional power. She provides clients with compassionate, informed representation and plays a vital role in advancing justice for victims of misconduct in New Mexico. Her experience, dedication, and commitment to advocacy make her a trusted ally in civil rights litigation.
