Alex Hurtuk

Alex Hurtuk is a partner in WH Burkley’s Real Estate Group in Cleveland. He handles commercial real estate matters involving leasing, development, construction, financing, acquisitions, and dispositions. He represents developers, owners, lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, purchasers, and sellers across retail, mixed-use, office, industrial, warehouse, and other commercial properties. His work helps clients structure transactions, document business terms, and address property issues that arise throughout development, ownership, financing, and occupancy.

Alex earned a J.D., cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He served as Managing Editor and Staff Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. He also earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Allegheny College. His academic background in legal analysis and dispute resolution supports a transactional practice that requires careful drafting, negotiation, due diligence review, and attention to competing business interests in complex property matters.

Alex prepares and negotiates leases for landlords and tenants and assists developers, owners, and lenders with commercial development projects. His work includes reviewing title commitments, recorded documents, surveys, corporate and organizational documents, easements, and license agreements. He also represents purchasers and sellers in acquisitions and dispositions and handles construction financing connected to commercial projects. This broad experience allows him to address both the legal documentation and practical business considerations involved in real estate transactions.
