About
Alan Padfield is a seasoned Texas attorney with more than three decades of experience in civil litigation across state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. Since 1992, he has represented businesses, institutions, estates, and individuals in a wide array of legal matters, with a major focus on creditors’ rights and collateral recovery throughout Texas.
Mr. Padfield holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. Before entering the legal field, he worked as a Facility Planning and Project Engineer at General Dynamics Corporation, bringing valuable insights from engineering and government contract management to his legal practice.
A significant portion of Mr. Padfield’s work involves representing secured creditors in bankruptcy and state court proceedings. Over the past decade, he has led more than 1,000 bankruptcy cases and 500 state court cases through an established network of affiliated counsel. His deep familiarity with Texas judges and local court procedures ensures efficient, strategic enforcement of creditors’ rights.
In addition to creditors’ rights, Mr. Padfield handles matters involving probate, real estate litigation and transactions, oil and gas litigation, estate planning, and business entity dissolution and transition. He also represents clients in complex commercial disputes, including breach of fiduciary duty, director and officer liability claims, and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy cases.
Alan Padfield is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, and all U.S. District Courts within the state of Texas. He is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of multiple legal organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI).
