Alan M. Sack

Alan M. Sack is a registered patent attorney and the founding attorney at SACK IP Law, with extensive experience in intellectual property law, litigation, and patent prosecution. He helps clients protect patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets in disputes before U.S. district courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC). His expertise spans industries including biotechnology, medical devices, software, entertainment, and pharmaceuticals.

Sack earned his S.B. in Life Sciences from MIT and his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. His background includes handling patent appeals, reissues, reexaminations, post-issue review proceedings, and opposition cases before the European and Japanese Patent Offices.

Drawing on extensive experience in trademark and trade secret law, Sack handles complex unfair competition, brand protection, and advertising litigation. He advises businesses on every stage of trademark strategy—including selection, clearance, registration, portfolio management, and enforcement—and represents clients in the apparel, banking, entertainment, food and beverage, gaming, music, and technology industries.
