Rod S. Berman

Rod S. Berman is a highly respected intellectual property attorney and Intellectual Property Law Group chair at JMBM. His strong technical background allows him to navigate intellectual property disputes with precision. He is admitted to the State Bar of California, the U.S. Supreme Court, multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Throughout his career, Mr. Berman has delivered major wins in high‑stakes intellectual property disputes. He obtained a preliminary injunction against Wilson Sports in a trademark case and secured a summary judgment of non‑infringement in a patent case, which was later affirmed on appeal with attorney’s fees awarded. He has argued—and prevailed—in cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Ninth Circuit, and successfully resolved a petition for certiorari before the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Berman’s IP litigation experience covers a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technology, beauty and personal care, and entertainment.
