Aileen Fernandez-Mesa, Esq. is a seasoned family law attorney with nearly 18 years of experience representing clients in complex family and matrimonial matters. Known for her direct, resolution-focused approach, she is a steadfast advocate in cases involving divorce, child custody and support, alimony, property division, paternity, and prenuptial agreements.

Aileen earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida, with concentrations in psychology and English. She obtained her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law in 2007. That same year, she was admitted to practice law in Florida, laying the foundation for a career deeply rooted in advocacy, precision, and compassion.

Aileen’s legal experience includes extensive time at the Florida Department of Children and Families, where she served as a lead attorney and later as Division Chief. Her work in dependency law earned her the Outstanding Achievement Award for Trial Preparation and a Formal Commendation from the Department Secretary, highlighting her commitment to child welfare and family stability.

Since joining Orshan, Spann & Fernandez-Mesa in 2012, Aileen has focused her practice on high-conflict family law cases and regularly serves as a court-appointed guardian ad litem. Her dedication extends beyond the courtroom. She is involved in organizations such as the First Family Law American Inn of Court and KidSide Miami, where she has served as Chair to support therapeutic services for children during litigation.
