About
Adam Carlos Flores is a partner at Ives & Flores, where he champions civil rights through high-impact litigation across New Mexico. His practice focuses on cases involving excessive force, unlawful searches, wrongful detention, and violations of constitutional freedoms, including the First Amendment and due process rights.
Adam earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2014, graduating in the top three of his class. During law school, he served as Professional Articles Editor for the New Mexico Law Review. He also holds a B.A. in English and Philosophy, cum laude, from the University of New Mexico.
After law school, Adam clerked for the Honorable Judge Linda Vanzi at the New Mexico Court of Appeals. He then practiced civil rights law exclusively, representing victims of police misconduct and systemic abuse at both state and federal levels. His litigation experience includes class actions, consent decrees, and institutional reform efforts.
At Ives & Flores, Adam litigates on behalf of individuals harmed by unconstitutional conditions in jails and prisons, sexual abuse in schools and workplaces, and the misuse of civil asset forfeiture. He also defends against First Amendment defamation claims and advocates for public access under New Mexico’s public records laws.
Adam Carlos Flores has argued before appellate courts and authored briefs on behalf of loss of consortium claimants, police misconduct victims, and government accountability advocates. In 2020, he received the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government’s First Amendment Freedom Award for expanding public access to law enforcement records during active investigations.
Adam’s legal work reflects a steadfast commitment to civil liberties and government transparency. His approach combines sharp legal insight with deep empathy for clients whose rights have been violated, making him a leading force for justice in New Mexico’s civil rights landscape.
