Zacery A. Munoz

Zacery A. Munoz began his legal career as a clerk for the Law Offices of Chad Van Brunt and John T. Hunter, gaining early experience in criminal defense. He later clerked under legendary attorneys Gerry Goldstein and Cynthia Orr, contributing to complex legal cases involving charges such as murder, bribery, sexual assault, money laundering, and federal drug conspiracies. His background also includes work on civil rights lawsuits and federal habeas corpus matters.

Zacery earned his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he was a student attorney at the Center for Legal and Social Justice. There, he handled a wide range of cases from misdemeanors to serious felony charges. He also played a role in the 2017–2018 revisions of the Texas Annotated Code of Criminal Procedure and the Texas Penal Code, a project published by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Zacery graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a concentration in legal studies.

Zacery A. Munoz concentrates his practice on state criminal litigation, post-conviction writs of habeas corpus, criminal appellate matters, and Section 1983 civil rights claims.
