William H. Troupe

William H. Troupe is a seasoned attorney who focuses his practice on workers’ compensation, Social Security Disability, and disability retirement law. With more than four decades of legal experience, he has developed a strong reputation for helping individuals secure the benefits and protections available under disability and workers’ compensation systems.

William earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1967. He later attended Suffolk University, where he obtained his law degree in 1972. While attending law school, he gained valuable experience working in the insurance industry handling workers’ compensation claims.

William worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, managing workers’ compensation claims, and later served as the New England compensation claims manager for the Greater New York Mutual Insurance Company. This background provided him with important insight into the claims process and how compensation cases are evaluated.

William began his legal career with Laurence Locke Associates. During this time, he worked alongside and was mentored by respected professionals in workers’ compensation law. In 1990, he became a founding partner of the firm Hislop, Carney and Troupe before opening the Troupe Law Office in 2009.

William has also contributed to the legal profession through writing and professional leadership. He has written many articles for legal publications on workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability, and previously served as chairman of the Massachusetts Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section.

William H. Troupe has shared his knowledge through testimony and education. He testified before the governor’s task force on workers’ compensation issues and at the governor’s asbestos litigation symposium. He is also a regular lecturer at continuing legal education programs for attorneys.
