William H. Crawford

William H. Crawford, Esq., is a partner at Thompson, Crawford, Brown & Smiley, where he focuses on commercial litigation, bankruptcy, corporate law, family law, and real estate matters. With decades of legal experience, William has built a reputation for skillfully representing businesses, financial institutions, and individuals in complex litigation and transactional matters throughout Florida. His approach combines strategic thinking with practical solutions tailored to his clients’ needs.

William earned his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class and serving on the Law Review and Order of the Coif. He also holds a B.S. from Florida State University. Before beginning his legal career, he worked as a construction manager for Crawford Construction, Inc., which gave him valuable real-world experience in business and project management.

Before joining Thompson, Crawford, Brown & Smiley, William practiced with Pennington, Wilkinson & Dunlap, where he represented major financial institutions and corporations, including Nations Bank of Florida, Transamerica Commercial Finance Corp., and the FDIC. His experience in commercial and real estate litigation, coupled with his courtroom expertise, has allowed him to handle cases for clients such as Dunkin’ Donuts, Ford Consumer Finance, and Liberty Mutual Insurance with professionalism and success.

William H. Crawford is admitted to practice in Florida, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. A member of the Tallahassee Bar Association, he is also active in community service, having served as a scout leader and on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters. His dedication to both clients and the community reflects his integrity and leadership in Florida’s legal field.
