About
William B. Federman is the founder and managing partner of Federman & Sherwood, bringing over four decades of litigation and appellate experience. He leads national cases in data breach litigation, securities law, shareholder derivative actions, and complex class action lawsuits across federal and state courts.
Mr. Federman earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa in 1982 and holds a B.A. from Boston University, where he graduated cum laude. He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma, Texas, New York, the District of Columbia, and numerous federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court and multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals.
Throughout his career, Mr. Federman has served as lead or co-lead counsel in hundreds of class action cases, securing over $100 million for his clients. His practice is focused on protecting consumer rights, investor interests, and data privacy through strategic, high-impact litigation.
Known for his high ethical standards and legal skill, Mr. Federman has received the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has spoken extensively at legal conferences, including events hosted by the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, and Houston Bar Association. He has also contributed to numerous legal publications on corporate litigation, arbitration, and ethical practice.
