About
Vincent J. Marella is a founding partner of Bird Marella, where he focuses his practice on complex federal criminal prosecutions and related civil litigation. For more than three decades, he has advised corporations, boards, and senior executives facing government investigations, parallel proceedings, and high-stakes enforcement actions across diverse regulated industries.
Vincent earned his B.A. and J.D. from Temple University, where rigorous academic training strengthened his grounding in advocacy, trial practice, and legal analysis. This foundation now supports his work navigating grand jury investigations, post-indictment litigation, and complex motions practice in trial and appellate courts across the country.
Renowned for his white-collar defense practice, Vincent represents companies and high-level officers in matters involving securities, tax, healthcare, customs and embargo issues, as well as mail, wire, and financial fraud. He frequently manages parallel civil, criminal, and administrative proceedings, coordinating cohesive defense strategies that protect clients’ liberty, reputation, and commercial interests.
A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Vincent is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier white collar trial lawyers. His courtroom talent has been recognized repeatedly by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Lawdragon, and international guides to leading business crime practitioners.
Throughout his career, Vincent has handled some of the most significant federal tax and business crime prosecutions in the country, including record-setting matters in Hawaii and nationwide. He brings disciplined preparation, strategic judgment, and steady trial leadership to every engagement, whether acting for a global corporation or an individual executive.
In addition to representing clients in active prosecutions, Vincent J. Marella regularly conducts internal investigations for public companies and their boards. His work includes assessing potential criminal exposure, advising on voluntary disclosures, interacting with regulators, and helping clients design or strengthen compliance programs to address emerging enforcement priorities in white collar and corporate environments.
