Valerie J. Himes

Valerie J. Himes is an experienced Kentucky attorney serving clients in a wide range of legal matters. Her practice includes estate planning, probate, commercial transactions, real estate matters, business formation, contracts, civil litigation, evictions, health care law, adoptions, and uncontested divorce. She provides clear and practical legal guidance.

Valerie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2000, graduating in the top 15% of her class. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Kentucky, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1996. During law school, she served as associate editor of the Kentucky Law Journal.

Valerie began her legal career as a staff attorney for the Madison and Clark County Circuit Judges. She later served on the City of Richmond Board of Adjustments for several years. Since 2003, she has been an adjunct faculty professor at Eastern Kentucky University’s School of Business, teaching business law and real estate law.

Valerie’s estate planning services include wills, powers of attorney, and trusts. She assists families through probate matters and handles real estate closings, mortgage loan closings, deeds, leases, and purchase contracts. She also guides clients in business entity formation and commercial transactions.

Valerie is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Madison County Bar Association, where she served as President from 2011 to 2012. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky and before the United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.
