About
Tyson Y. Herrold is counsel at BakerHostetler in Philadelphia, where he focuses his litigation practice on antitrust and competition matters and other complex disputes. His areas of focus include commercial litigation, antitrust and competition, multidistrict litigation, and broader litigation matters. Tyson represents clients facing significant business disputes and regulatory concerns, drawing on substantial federal court experience to evaluate legal issues, develop litigation strategy, and guide matters through trial and appellate proceedings.
Tyson earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2012, graduating magna cum laude and earning membership in the Order of the Coif. During law school, he served as an associate editor of the Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal. His legal education strengthened his research, writing, and advocacy skills and provided a foundation for his work on complex antitrust, commercial, constitutional, and appellate matters.
Following law school, Tyson completed judicial clerkships with federal judges in the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. His clerkship experience included high-profile antitrust and constitutional cases as well as litigation arising from the financial crisis. In private practice, he has represented clients in complex competition disputes, including a price-fixing case in which BakerHostetler obtained summary judgment for Alon USA Energy.
Tyson Y. Herrold also contributes to the legal community through writing and speaking on antitrust and competition issues. In 2026, he participated in an Association of Corporate Counsel program addressing ethical issues for in-house lawyers confronting potential antitrust problems and co-authored commentary on Robinson-Patman Act enforcement. His combination of federal court experience, antitrust knowledge, and complex litigation practice allows him to provide practical guidance to clients facing disputes involving competition law, commercial claims, and evolving regulatory concerns.
